Friday, February 14, 2003 I got up this morning (afternoon sih sebenernya ... tepu dikit biar kesannya gak slacker... hehehe), took a shower, and suddenly there's somebody at the door. I wondered who that is. Ow... a UPS guy carrying a huge box and eng ing eng.... it's for me. Hhhhmmm... for me ... that's weird. I wasn't expecting any package or anything. Pas dibuka ... heheheh ternyata a dozen of fresh cut red roses and there's a heart-shaped box full of chocolate. Dari sapa yeeee... *wink*. Trus gue baca cardnya ... "everyday is Valentine, but today is 'Vandalentine's Day'. I Luv You. Emil." Well... well ... well... so this is the surprise ... or hhhmm maybe ... more coming? Hehehe.. maruk yah maunya surprise terus. Cenengnya ... hihihiih. Thank you for putting a big smile on my face :D
*terusan Valentine's day story* ... Pas Emil pulang kantor at 5pm... he told me to get ready. Of course I complaint cuz it's way too early for dinner and the night is still young. Ya udah gue buru2 deh tuh siap2... trus dia bilang "wear something nice". Wuih pusink ... I need at least two hours to figure out what to wear apalagi kalo buat special occassion. Ya udah deh I just grabbed my pink dress out of the closet. hehehe.. Valentine abbesss. A half an hour later akhirnya berangkat. I was clueless.. ini mo kemana seh !?! Udah gitu tempatnya sumpah jauh banget ... we spent a good 45 minutes on the road. Nyampe juga finally. Tempatnya romantis banget. Diatas bukit gitu trus overlooking Lake Austin. Wow ... nice view deh pokoknya. Oh lala.. ternyata itu a concert venue.. namanya One World Theatre. Gak nyangka banget. Trus pas Emil ngeluarin tiketnya... Oh My God ... ternyata yang bakal perform itu Bobby Caldwell. Aaaahhh.... gila... seneng banget gue. (FYI, Bobby Caldwell is a pop-jazz performer. Lagu2nya yang beken Heart of Mine, The real thing, etc.). So itu toh big surprisenya. Dua hari sebelomnya gue emang pernah make a silent wish gitu... seru juga kali yah kalo nonton Bobby Caldwell pas Valentine tapi gue pikir... hhhmm kayaknya Emil gak bakalan suka. I didn't even bother to mention it. Duh.. wish gue kesampean coba. Hihihi.. masih seneng deh gue. Trus abis nonton concert kita dinner. Nyampe di restaurant jam 9:30 baru dapet table ampir jam 11.Mau hop ke tempat lain lagi kayaknya bakalan sama aja nunggunya soalnya pas weekend trus juga Valentine's evening ... so tau ndiri donk. Setelah penantiannya yang cukup bikin gak sabar... akhirnya dapet table dan dapetnya booth pula yang gede. Gara2 kelaperan pas waiternya dateng .. jebret.. langsung deh tuh order dari appetizer sampe main course. Orangnya bingung kali yah... hihihihi ... tapi dia diem aja... daripada macem2 ama orang laper.
Well that's the story of my Valentine. My last Valentine in the US .... *sigh*.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY for everyone. Hhhmm... I wonder how this V day is gonna turn out. Emil is having a little surprise for me. He asked me where to go for the dinner tonight. Wow ...mana yah yang mahal... hihihihi *devil-bootilicious nya keluar deh*. I guess this would be my last Valentine in the US. I'm gonna make the best out of it. Apa yah yang bisa bikin unforgettable ... berantem aja kali yah... hihihi.... gak ah BOSEN!!! huahuauhauha.

One word: PHENOMENAL. Man... this movie is a must see!! Although it's out tomorrow but we... HAH ... got to see tonight. I guess there weren't that many people that knew about the special screening. No opening day crowd, plenty of seats, no loud kids and teenagers ... just like watching TV in your own comfy living room. Jennifer Garner (Elektra Natchios) kicks ass ... (watch out dudes!), Bulls-Eye (Colin Farrell) just like his skill.. he's right on the money, and Ben Affleck .. looks like ... uhm... Ben Affleck (hehehehe).
The movie was just awesome compare to other superhero movies. It's a little slow in the beginning but the action picks up as the story goes. It's kinda like a combination of Batman Returns (the one with Michael Keaton and Michelle Pfeifer) and The Crow (Brandon Lee). The story is about a blind lawyer, Matt Murdock, who lives a dual life. When he was 12 year-old, Matt Murdock was blinded by a horrible accident involving hazardous liquids. Endowed with super-powers that help him `super-sense' upcoming danger with his remaining faculties, and fueled by vengeance after witnessing his father's murder, Murdock has grown up to become the horned avenger, Daredevil. Moonlighting by day as an attorney who helps the innocent, and at night as a crusader who will stop at nothing to serve out the justice he can't get in the courts, Daredevil's days appear to be numbered when a crime figure named The Kingpin (Michael Clark Duncan) comes to power, along with his deadly hit-man, Bullseye. Complicating Murdock's life even further is Elektra Natchios another protector of the night, who is smitten with the masked avenger, but has her own designs for payback on Kingpin and Bullseye.
Just like other movies, this movie also has some flaws. Can't tell you though ... you ought to see it yourself :D A little tip from me... at the end of the movie ... don't just rush out through the exit. There's an extra scene after the ending credit. Be a person without fear. Watch this movie!

First and foremost, thanks buat Hani dan Ella yang udah ngasih hint2 soal mimpinya. Well it's no surprise if the dream relates to some kind of new beginning. Kayaknya emang akhir2 ini gue lagi sering2nya bikin plan buat di Jakarta entar. Gak mau terlalu muluk2 sih ... just so gue tau within the foreseeable future tuh gue mau ngapain aja. Yang pasti sih numero uno nya tuh nyari kerja, settle down, and someday down the road ... have a family of my own kali yah. Lagi bikin2 plan gini kadang2 gue suka ngerasa ragu aja. I keep asking myself whether I'm ready to start my life all over again. It's a good thing .. no doubt. .. but u know kayaknya capek aja buat go through the whole adaptation, conformity of culture (especially work ethic), dll. Ngebayanginnya aja kayaknya udah bikin capek banget. Gue bukannya ngeluh, manja, atau gak mau do my best ... cuma kayaknya gue udah terlalu comfy sama hidup gue yang bikin gue reluctant untuk start over. Not to say I'm happy with my live now ... sebenernya sih tujuan hidup gue sama aja cuma sekarang bakalan beda tempat, beda culture, pokoknya semuanya bakalan beda deh. If you were in my shoes... pasti ada deh rasa deg2an nya.. nervous and all that. Pas dikasih tau arti mimpi yang bayi itu gue agak2 relief sih. The baby means a new beginning. Dan kayak gue bilang in my last entry that baby won't stop smiling. Does that mean happiness is on the way? I hope so.
Anyway, tadi gue iseng2 search di google buat nyari dream interpretation. Gue click di salah satu websitenya and it's called New Age Directory. Di situ dijelasin tentang gimana bisa terjadinya mimpi dan arti2nya. Mumpung gue lagi iseng banget... hehehe gue paste deh a few examples:
baby - A new event , happening, beginning for the subject of the dream. Can mean a baby if the dream is about a pregnant person or someone wanting to have one. Wish fulfillment. Fills one's sense of lacking or incompleteness.
cheating - Common dream of those who have suspicions real or imaginary about their mates. Some times can be a hint from the subconscious to investigate. (nah loh... nah loh...)
death - Does not signify death. Means to remove or be removed from a situation, emotions or circumstances. May or may not involve the dead person.
elevator - The status and location of your mental and spiritual awareness related to the mind. Slow elevator: impatience to get there. Wrong floor: you haven't found what you are seeking. (hehehe kalo alarmnya bunyi artinya apaan.)
health - Here are some points to consider being a possible signal that there is a health situation to be dealt with: Any focus upon a body part. Exaggerated size or color; Extreme feelings. Swallowing or choking,
vomiting. When there is a demonstration of these on another faceless person that you are observing. It's best to be safe and investigate.

I took a nap today and I had a dream. It was a really sad dream. In my dream, I live far far away from home and I just had a new born baby. He's so precious, so beautiful, and he would never stop smiling. I caress him, cuddle him, nursed him, and love him. My dad came to visit me and to see the baby. He was wearing his solid white t-shirt and his sarong. All of a sudden he said, "I have to get ready. I'm going home today." I was speechless. And he asked me to drop him off at the bus station. I asked one of my best friends to drive us to the station. Somewhere near the bus station my dad said, " just drop me off at the stop light." So we did. I can't stop crying on the way home 'cause I miss him already. Kayaknya belom puas banget ngeliat bokap gue. Tiba2 gue teriak ... "turn around .. I wanna see him again." Then my friend made a turn and rushed to the station. Trus temen gue pulled over and I got off the car. I went looking for my dad from corner to corner. I couldn't find him. Gue panik banget trus gue ngeliat bokap gue lagi ketiduran di salah satu bench gitu. I ran to him and hugged him so tightly. Bokap gue nanya... "Didn't we say good-bye?" but I just cried and said .. "I don't wanna say good-bye" still have my arms around him.. hugging him closely. Trus gue kebangun... gue yang kaget gitu. I felt warm tears rolling down my cheeks. wow... isn't that weird. It felt so real. Has anybody else experienced the same thing?

I'm having those nightmares again. Those that I thought had left me months ago. I never wished for them to come back. Now they're back. I remember when they came into my sleep a few months ago as pieces of a puzzle that I was trying to solve. They were the signs that something right had gone wrong. When it was all revealed ... I fell into the lowest point. It took me awhile to understood how it all happened and why. All those time I've given all the effort I had, I bet with everything I owned, and for once ... hoping to find a bit of happiness, that was when everything crumbled before my very eyes and I felt a something stabbed me from behind and cut through the very part of me. All was lost. My precious thing had turned its back on me and left me when I needed it the most. How cruel this world could be. After some time, I finally learned, the hardest way, that things happen for a reason. Perhaps I don't belong here... maybe this road is not meant for me. Perhaps now is the time to move on and start a brand new life with a brand new me ... in another place... another time. Ah nightmares ... please go and never return. All that was lost will never be found ... they're gone. They've left this place and never come back ... nor will I.
I won't lose sleep over it. Not anymore. The "mess" is gonna happen again anyway and this time I won't try to stop it. No use. It's just not worth fighting for .. and I... would rather use my time to fight for something else. I still have a long way to go. More things to see and to get to know. Hopefully between now and the end ... I'll find something better.
P.s: this posting may sound vague but I'd rather leave out the details.

Aha!!!!! The party that I've been waiting for all week long finally came. I've mentioned in my previous entries that I had planned to go to this party called the Samba Party a.k.a the Carnaval Brasileiro. It's actually the biggest Brazilian carnival celebrations outside Brazil - samba, costumes, and wild abandon - Brasiliero style. I had so much fun. Got my hair done, my nails done, my costume ready, and the mood for party was on. The party started at 9 o'clock but we were there at 11 (who would wanna come on time to parties anyway... right?). Pas nyampe parking lot nya .. gue ngeliat orang2 pada left the venue gituh. Hhhmmm aneh... is the party over already? Tapi masih ada yang dateng2 juga sih. Gila deh yah... it was 40 degrees outside tapi orang2 tuh masih pada cuek pake thong doank. Cowok.. cewek ... ampir semua deh. Itu masih di parking lot tuh. Pas gue masuk ke building ... wow... it was packed. Gosh... all kinds of people wearing all kinds of costume. Yang "gak pake" costume juga banyak. Dari yang muda ampe nenek... dari freak sampe computer geeks... semua deh. Beneran lowh ... ada nih nenek2 sama kakek.. fleshing gitu. Trus ada lagi an older guy .. I'd guess his probably in his late 50s.. joget2 gitu pake costume julius caesar... huahuaha... kocak banget. Trus yang gay2 nya pada pake costume angel. Banyak juga sih yang pake costume Elvis. Well that's not unusual sih kalo menurut gue. Lebih mending deh daripada white trashnya (ceweknya pada endut2 gitu )... udah boobiesnya going south ... trus yang cuma pake lacey camisole gitu. Pede banget lagi fleshing2 gitu... wuih... puh-leazeee!!! Sempet tuh pas gue lagi bengong gitu ... tiba2 si Emil bilang... "awas ada toket lewat" gue nengok gitu.. bwahahahha... no offense lowh .. cuma boobies sama orang gedean boobies. White trash pula.. hihihi... Nyela aje deh gue ... heran. We took some pictures as always although gak banyak2 banget. Abis ribet kali yah ke dorong2 melulu. Hehehe... anyway... pas gue lagi di dance floor gitu... tiba2 ada orang2 nih main kereta2an gitu... "Choo Choo ... !!!" Emil and I looked at each other ... trus yang.. "YUK!!" Hihihi.. ikutan deh kita... nabrak sana sini. Trus pas train yang satu putus... nyambung lagi ke yang lain. Pokoknya fun banget deh. Kita emang cuma berdua aja... cuma enaknya kalo di Austin tuh kalo party2 gitu... crowdnya langsung blend in jadi gak akan ngerasa left out. Band Brazilnya juga bagus banget performancenya. Top notch deh. Rumours sih bilangnya mereka tuh orang2 NY yang emang tiap taun selalu ngisi acara Samba Party di Austin. Top Abeezzz... Once they pop ... you really can't stop. Man... I'm gonna miss this party next year.... yaaaahhhh... and the whole austin parties. But I have the last party on the list that I can't miss... it's THE FAT TUESDAY. waahhhooo.. March 4th, baybeh.... I'm so ready to parttaayyyy... hihihi.

Yesterday was such an awesome day. Emil woke me up around 8 and he was all hyped up. I was like .. "dude ... what's going on?" He rushed to the window and screamed "look... hurry ... look at the snow ...". I jumped out of bed at once. Owh damn... it's real man. Wuih... kangen banget gue liat snow. It's been ages ago since the last time I touched it. Gue buru2 ganti baju, embat digicamnya emil, trus lari ke bawah nyari2 sepatu gue. Hehehe.. gara2 buru2 gue ampe mo jatoh. We went outside and took some pictures (click on the link to see those pics). Huhauhaua... guess what ... we weren't the only people that got up early just for the snow lowh. In fact some of our neighbors were already outside and took pictures, too. Sebenernya seeing the snow wasn't a new thing yah... tapi ini nih di Austin... in Texas and that doesn't happen very often. Biar cuma flakes doank kayaknya gue puassssss banget. At last, I finally see something different in Texas. Anyway I'm happy ... I finally got to see snow... one more time before I leave.
